Mourinho outlines Rashford's season success
Jose Mourinho believes Marcus Rashford must take on more responsibility and score more goals this season, but said his success may depend on how other teams set up against his Manchester United side.

Rashford scored 10 goals in 33 Premier League appearances last season and has already made a good start in his attempt to break that tally during the new campaign with his two strikes against Chelsea on Sunday.

Further goals by Anthony Martial and Daniel James saw United record a comfortable opening day victory , and speaking as a pundit on Sky Sports Mourinho said Rashford must step up this season.

"That's not enough (10 goals), he has to score more goals", Mourinho said.
"Especially without Lukaku on the team, I believe it will be between these two (Rashford and Martial), probably plus Alexis (Sanchez) and Mason (Greenwood) and he'll be on the pitch all the time.

"I believe that he has the qualities to be better and better and better, because he's not just a kid with potential, he's a kid with ambition and work ethic who wants to improve.

"I believe this season he has a big opportunity to be a better player and score more goals."
Chelsea allowed a generous amount of time and space for Rashford to score his double, but Mourinho believes the 21-year-old may find it tougher against more defensive-minded teams.

When asked if Rashford is ready to lead the line for United, Mourinho replied: "It depends on the way they play.

"Playing the way they played today, against a Chelsea who allowed them to play the way they like to play, he's very, very dangerous.

"Against teams with compact blocks, lower blocks, more physical, more pressure on the ball where United has more of the ball and less possibilities of transition, I'm sure it's a little bit more difficult for him."
